The Fortunous Dynasty's Exploits
The 24679th Infantry “Ulf’s”
Ulf’s regiment was expecting, like 99 others, to head to the Margin Crusade.
Then they were “stolen,” to use the Administratum’s term, by the Fortunous Dynasty for their campaign. Most of the others took the change with a shrug. The Imperium said they would go one place, then said another.
But Col. Ulf was embittered. A deeply devout man, he had hoped to bring the Emperor’s Light to the far reaches of the galaxy. Now he was headed to the Expanse, already well-mapped (in his mind). His dissatisfaction has communicated itself to his soldiery.
Dark whispers hang around Ulf’s family, however. His great-uncle and his immediate family were flogged to death after a secret Ecclesiarchial trial. The heresy remains officially unnamed, but it appears that the Temple Tendency may be trying to make a comeback.
If that heresy exists in Ulf, it could cause the whole regiment to fall.
This may be countered by the presence of , their devout and steadfast preacher.
Battle of the Transports
While the Penitent Traveler was being escorted by the Xenos Tracker, they had the misfortune to run into three Chaos vessels. As the Tracker battled the two Infidel-class raiders, the Traveler headed towards the Soulcage. At the urging of Col. Ulf, they began a boarding action that ended with the purging of the ships crew and the corrupted slaves. 11,000 possibly pure souls were rescued.
